How do I know my credit/debit card details are safe?

All credit/debit card details are collected on secure web pages using proven 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. This is considered by many, to be safer than giving credit card details over the phone and is the same technology used by online banks. You know you are on a secure web page because the web page address starts with https:// not http://. The 's' stands for secure. There will also be a padlock symbol in the bottom right or left of your browser indicating that the information is being transmitted over a secure connection.

How do I know that SECpay are who they say they are, and not just securely accepting my details for fraudulent purposes?

On the secure web page there is a Thawte certificate. When you click the certificate a pop-up will display the owner of the certificate and website. Thawte are a worldwide recognised supplier of certificates and trusted third party.
